Watch On-Demand: ABIR Supports 2022 Dive In Festival
Bermuda's re/insurance community again joined cities worldwide to lead discussions to encourage diversity and inclusion in the workplace and bring about fundamental changes in the industry.
The 2022 Dive In Festival took place from 27 – to 29 2022, with events in over 30 countries using a mix of in-person and virtual panels. The 2022 Festival theme was Building Braver Cultures to build braver, psychologically safe working cultures.
Topic inspirations included the following:
- Mental Health
- Disability - Non-visible disabilities (e.g., neurodiversity)
- Social mobility
- Family & careers support
- Physical health & wellbeing
- LGBT+ Inclusivity
- Gender equality
- Racial equality
- Religious equality
- Ageism
- Inequalities as a consequence of Covid-19
ABIR also participated on a panel that explored Psychological Safety in the Workplace, with panelists that included Adrian Hartnett-Beasley, Board Member, OUT Bermuda, Latisha Lister-Burgess, Executive Director, Employee Assistance Program and Philip Vandoninck, CEO, Fidelis.
The panel sought to inform our industry leaders / people managers and provide tools as to how best to create a psychologically safe environment for today's employees to feel safe and be able to practice allyship with curiosity, courage and reflection.
The topics discussed included the basics of what psychological safety actually means, the importance of allyship and how leaders can model, encourage and drive a safe culture from the top.
ABIR's participation as a local sponsor and participant is congruent with previous years, as an important event for the re/insurance industry. The event was virtual for attendees, but panelists assembled in-person for the discussion.
